300mm Knauf FactoryClad Roll 40 is the deepest glass mineral wool cladding roll Knauf produce, and the ceiling of the FactoryClad range across all three grades. Knauf's own literature describes the range as running to 300mm, and there is nothing above it. That makes this the last thickness that goes into a built-up metal roof or wall as a single continuous layer, which is the real distinction at the top of a range rather than the headline figure alone.
Each roll measures 3.20m by 1200mm and covers 3.84m², with 24 rolls to a pallet giving 92.16m², the lowest coverage per roll and per pallet in the range. Declared thermal conductivity is 0.040 W/mK, producing a thermal resistance of 7.50 m²K/W, and water vapour resistivity is 5.00 MNs/g.m. Published embodied carbon is 2.59 kgCO₂e/m² across stages A1 to A3 and 3.44 kgCO₂e/m² across A1 to C4.
The single-layer point is worth dwelling on. A quilt laid in one pass gives one plane of insulation with joints only between adjacent rolls, all running the same way and all closing against each other. Once a build-up needs two laminated layers, there is a second set of joints to register, cross-joints to stagger deliberately so they do not line up, and more chance of a gap being left somewhere in the middle of the assembly where nobody will ever see it. Reaching 7.50 m²K/W without any of that is the argument for taking the depth in one roll while the range still offers it.
Installation follows the same sequence as every thickness below it: liner sheet fixed, quilt laid over it, spacer system brought up to take it into the cavity, outer profiled sheet fixed last, to Knauf Insulation's guidance and the cladding system manufacturer's details. At 300mm the spacer system is bespoke rather than catalogue and should be agreed with the cladding system supplier at design stage. It is also worth being straight about the limits: at this depth the brackets penetrating the layer, not the wool, largely determine what the assembly achieves, so a modelled U-value calculation to BS EN ISO 10211:2017 is the only way to know what the depth is actually buying. Knauf's Technical Services Team will produce that calculation. The thickness suits envelopes carrying a demanding fabric target, including buildings served by low-temperature heating such as heat pumps, where the plant depends on low heat loss to run efficiently, and on farms it tends to appear on one-off builds specified above the regulatory minimum rather than to it.

Good to know:
- This is the deepest single layer available: anything beyond 7.50 m²K/W from FactoryClad means laminating two layers, with the extra jointing and design that brings.
- The brackets govern the result at this depth: ask for a modelled calculation to BS EN ISO 10211:2017 rather than a simplified figure, or the depth may not deliver what it looks like on paper.
- Bespoke spacer system: 300mm is well beyond catalogue bracket depths, so agree it with the cladding system supplier at design stage rather than at order stage.
- Lowest coverage in the range at 3.84m² per roll, so take off the area properly before ordering.
- Available in the 40 grade only, as Roll 35 stops at 220mm and Roll 32 at 80mm.
- The 40 denotes a declared conductivity of 0.040 W/mK, not a thickness.
- Supplied uncut at 3.20m per roll and unfaced on both faces.
- Non-hygroscopic, but not moisture resistant. Keep it dry and covered, and discard any roll that has taken water.
At the top of the range, 300mm puts 7.50 m²K/W into a built-up system in one continuous layer, which is as far as FactoryClad goes and as simple as that depth gets.

How do I place an order with Insulation UK?
You can place an order for delivery anytime online. If you want to collect from our distribution centre in South Yorkshire then please email us your requirements at sales@insulationuk.co.uk

How do I know what’s happening with my order and when I will receive it?
When you have placed your order, you will then receive an email confirmation, giving you an order reference number and asking you to double check everything is correct on your order such as delivery address, quantities etc. If there are any amendments to be made, then please reply to your confirmation email with any details.
Once the team has processed the order you will receive an email with a BY delivery date, this is the latest date you will receive your delivery.
Your final email will be a 24/48hr notification, on the day of the delivery if you need a more accurate ETA then contact the office on 03003 034 578.
Do you offer next-day delivery?

How much does delivery cost and how long will it take?

Will the driver help unload the insulation products?
Most of our deliveries are made with vehicles with mechanical off-load (known as a moffett or fork-lift), the driver will leave them in a safe place of your choice. They will help as much as they are allowed but are not insured to bring anything into a property.
What happens if my order arrives damaged or incomplete?

What if my order doesn’t arrive and I have paid for trades to be on site, can I claim anything towards the costs I have incurred?
We advise not to have trades booked in and around the day of your delivery. Things can happen beyond our control, and your delivery may be delayed or abandoned. We cannot be held liable for any consequential loss such as tradesman wages etc.
