Product Description
Product Description
50mm Celotex GA4050 PIR Insulation Board is a rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board from the general-purpose GA4000 range, designed for use across floors, walls and roofs. It is the thinnest board in the GA4000 line-up, which makes it a practical choice where insulation is needed in a slimmer profile, either as a single layer or as part of a multi-layer build-up.
Each board measures 2400mm x 1200mm x 50mm and is supplied as a single board covering 2.88m² (sold per board). With a declared thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK and a thermal resistance of 2.25 m²K/W, the GA4050 delivers reliable thermal performance for its thickness, helping a project work towards its target U-values while keeping the insulation layer compact.
The board is faced on both sides with a low-emissivity aluminium foil, bonded to the closed-cell PIR core during manufacture. When installed facing a sealed or cavity air space, this reflective facing improves the thermal performance the build-up can achieve. The square edge profile keeps boards sitting cleanly side by side, so they cut, fit and butt together neatly across floors, walls and roofs.
As a multi-application board, 50mm Celotex GA4050 is used in ground floors (including beam and block, concrete slab and suspended timber floors), internal dry lining, timber-framed walls and pitched roofs between or under rafters, with flat-roof applications also falling within the GA4000 range's scope. It should be installed in line with the latest Celotex technical guidance, the project specification and relevant Building Regulations, including any height restrictions on external wall use. Suitable for both new build and renovation, the 50mm GA4050 gives specifiers and trade installers one versatile board to carry across several parts of a project.
Key Benefits of 50mm Celotex GA4050:
- 50mm rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board from the general-purpose GA4000 range, suitable for floors, walls and roofs.
- Declared thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK for strong thermal performance in a slim profile.
- Thermal resistance (R-value) of 2.25 m²K/W for the 50mm board.
- Low-emissivity aluminium foil facings on both sides to improve performance across sealed and cavity air spaces.
- Square edge profile for clean, close board-to-board fitting.
- The thinnest board in the GA4000 range, useful where space is limited or as part of a multi-layer build-up.
- Lightweight and rigid, so boards are easy to transport, handle and cut on site.
- Manufactured with a blowing agent of zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and low Global Warming Potential (GWP).
- Supplied as a single 2400mm x 1200mm board covering 2.88m².
- BBA certified (Certificate 25/7318) for defined pitched roof, dry lining and floor applications.
Good to know:
- Boards measure 2400mm x 1200mm and are sold individually, each covering 2.88m².
- Where a project needs more than 50mm, the GA4050 can be combined with other thicknesses in a multi-layer build-up to reach a target U-value.
- Store boards flat, off the ground and protected from prolonged moisture before installation.
- Celotex GA4000 should not be used in the external walls of buildings over 11 metres in height; always check current Building Regulations for your project.
- For precise cuts and less on-site waste, Insulation UK offers a bespoke cutting service, so boards can be supplied cut to your specifications.
- Achieved U-values depend on the full construction build-up, not the board alone: refer to the project specification before ordering.
As the slimline starting point of the GA4000 range, 50mm Celotex GA4050 keeps specification simple, installation quick and thermal performance dependable across floors, walls and roofs.
Important Notice: Please be aware that during periods of high demand, we reserve the right to provide alternative brands that meet the same specifications and quality standards as the products you originally ordered.

Thermal performance helps show how effectively the product reduces heat transfer.
Thermal conductivity measures how readily heat passes through the material, so lower figures generally indicate better insulating performance.
R Value shows the material’s thermal resistance at that thickness, so higher figures generally mean stronger insulation performance.
These figures relate to the insulation product itself and should be considered alongside the full wall, roof or floor build-up when checking project requirements.
- Thermal Conductivity:
- 0.022 W/mK
- R Value:
- 2.25 M²K/W
Compressive strength shows how well a product resists being squashed under pressure.
The figure is measured in kPa, which stands for kilopascals.
A higher kPa number means stronger resistance to compression. For example, 120 kPa offers more compression resistance than 70 kPa, but less than 150 kPa, 200 kPa or 300 kPa.
This does not mean the product can carry that load on its own. It should always be checked as part of the full floor, wall, roof or system build-up.
- Compressive Strength:
- 140 kPa
Euroclass reaction to fire is the European EN 13501-1 classification used to show how a construction product behaves when exposed to fire.
The main scale runs from A1 and A2 at the highest end, through B, C, D and E, down to F.
A1 is non-combustible and A2 is limited combustibility, while lower classes indicate a greater contribution to fire.
Euroclass F is the lowest rating on this scale and indicates the weakest reaction-to-fire performance.
This is different from fire resistance, which relates to how long a complete wall, floor or roof build-up can resist fire.
- Reaction to Fire:
- Euroclass F
