Buying the 170mm Knauf Loft Roll 44 Combi-cut by the pallet is the economical route when a job needs taking to the standard loft depth, since this is the one thickness that does it in a clean two-layer build-up. Lay a 100mm roll between the joists, then run the 170mm across the top at right angles, and the total reaches 270mm, the depth commonly used to achieve the 0.16 W/m²K roof U-value target under Part L of the Building Regulations. Crossing the second layer over the joists like this also breaks up thermal bridging through the timber, so the coverage performs more evenly. Where a project calls for more, a second 170mm layer over the base takes the total to 440mm. It suits cold pitched roofs at ceiling level and works between joists in suspended timber floors too.
The roll runs at a thermal conductivity of 0.044 W/mK with a thermal resistance of 3.85 m²K/W, and being glass mineral wool it brings some acoustic absorption with it, taking the edge off airborne sound coming through the ceiling. Each one is 1140mm wide and 7.03m long for 8.01m² of cover, and the combi-cut perforations mean you can tear it down to 2 x 570mm or 3 x 380mm for standard joist spacings, or keep it full width for a quick cross-laid pass with minimal waste. Light enough to move around the loft and simple to cut, it keeps the install within reach of a confident DIYer as much as a trade team.
It's built with ECOSE® Technology, Knauf's bio-based binder, which means no added formaldehyde or phenol, CFC & HCFC free, and zero ozone depletion potential, with up to 80% recycled glass going into every roll. How do I place an order with Insulation UK?
You can place an order for delivery anytime online. If you want to collect from our distribution centre in South Yorkshire then please email us your requirements at sales@insulationuk.co.uk
and we will send a payment link and collection instructions. If you can’t see what you are looking for or need more information, then call our team on 03003 034 578 and we can sort your order from there.
How do I know what’s happening with my order and when I will receive it?
When you have placed your order, you will then receive an email confirmation, giving you an order reference number and asking you to double check everything is correct on your order such as delivery address, quantities etc. If there are any amendments to be made, then please reply to your confirmation email with any details.
Once the team has processed the order you will receive an email with a BY delivery date, this is the latest date you will receive your delivery.
Your final email will be a 24/48hr notification, on the day of the delivery if you need a more accurate ETA then contact the office on 03003 034 578.
Do you offer next-day delivery?
Yes, we do on certain lines, you will see our next day delivery products marked as NEXT DAY. Order before 12pm for next day delivery (charges will apply)
How much does delivery cost and how long will it take?

Will the driver help unload the insulation products?
Most of our deliveries are made with vehicles with mechanical off-load (known as a moffett or fork-lift), the driver will leave them in a safe place of your choice. They will help as much as they are allowed but are not insured to bring anything into a property.
What happens if my order arrives damaged or incomplete?
