Overview

Basotect G+ is a versatile, high-performance melamine resin foam designed for a variety of applications in construction, industrial, and transportation sectors. Known for its exceptional sound absorption and thermal insulation properties, Basotect G+ is perfect for improving acoustics in both commercial and residential buildings, as well as providing thermal insulation for industrial and transportation applications. With its lightweight structure and high fire safety standards, Basotect G+ offers a sustainable solution for many demanding environments.

Key Features:

  • Excellent Sound Absorption: The open-cell foam structure ensures sound waves are absorbed, providing effective noise reduction in various environments.
  • Low Thermal Conductivity: Offers high thermal insulation with a conductivity of ≤ 0.035 W/mK, making it ideal for thermal applications.
  • High Fire Resistance: Achieves high fire safety standards (EN 45545 HL2-HL3, FMVSS 302, UL 94 V-0) without the need for additional flame retardants.
  • Lightweight: With a density of 9 kg/m³, it helps reduce the overall weight of systems, contributing to energy savings and lower emissions in transportation applications.
  • High Temperature Stability: Remains flexible at temperatures as low as -200°C and can withstand up to 240°C without losing its properties.
  • Environmental Friendly: Basotect G+ is non-toxic, free of halogenated hydrocarbons, and can be recycled for energy recovery.

Applications:

  • Sound Absorption: Used in acoustic panels, ceiling systems, and interior partitions to reduce noise levels and enhance acoustic comfort in offices, auditoriums, and industrial facilities.
  • Thermal Insulation: Ideal for insulating heating and ventilation systems, cryogenic applications, hot water tanks, and solar collectors.
  • Transportation: Provides noise reduction and thermal insulation in automotive, rail, aerospace, and marine industries. It’s used in engine compartments, interior panels, and insulation for pipelines in ships and aircraft.
  • Industrial Insulation: Effective for HVAC applications, pipe insulation, and industrial soundproofing, where both thermal and acoustic properties are required.

Technical Specifications:

  • Density: 9 ± 1.5 kg/m³ (EN ISO 845)
  • Compressive Strength: >9 kPa (EN ISO 3386-1)
  • Tensile Strength: >120 kPa (ISO 1798)
  • Elongation at Break: >18% (ISO 1798)
  • Thermal Conductivity: ≤0.035 W/m·K (DIN EN 12667)
  • Fire Resistance: B1 (DIN 4102-1), Euroclass B/C (EN 13501-2)
  • Maximum Temperature (long-term): >150°C (302°F), up to 200°C (392°F) in short bursts.

Additional Benefits:

  • Chemical Resistance: Basotect G+ is resistant to a wide range of chemicals including acids, oils, and solvents (refer to detailed technical data for specific substances).
  • Flexibility: Its flexible, open-cell structure makes it ideal for complex shapes and easy integration into various applications.

Product Safety & Environmental Information:

  • Health and Safety: Basotect G+ is non-toxic and does not release harmful fibers during handling, making it safe to use without specialized protection.
  • Environmental Impact: Free from halogenated hydrocarbons and complies with RoHS directives. It can be recycled for heat and material recovery.

Processing & Handling:

  • Basotect G+ can be easily processed by cutting, milling, sawing, and thermoforming. No special tools are required for basic shaping.
  • For optimal handling, store the foam in a dry area and allow it to acclimatize for several days before processing to avoid dimensional changes due to moisture absorption.
